The final scene of the anti-corruption drama "The Great River East Goes," titled "The Chase," was completed on May 10 in Qipanshan, Shenyang. This scene tells the story of gang leader Lu Tianyu, who turns gray overnight upon learning that he is about to be captured. During his desperate escape, he is hunted down and ultimately caught. Among the many "police" involved in the case, a small portion are actual armed police soldiers, while the vast majority dressed in camouflage are extras. The "camouflage" comes from various professions; some are retired soldiers, some are factory workers, and a portion are college students experiencing life. This scene requires nearly a hundred firearms for the extras, which presented a real headache for the producers. Two days before filming in Qipanshan, everything was ready except for the guns, as there are regulations from the public security department prohibiting the lending of a large number of firearms for filming. At the time, the crew could only borrow a few handguns (which use special bullets that contain explosives but no actual projectiles) from Changying for the shoot. In a moment of desperation, the producer of "The Great River East Goes" tasked assistant director Guo Liyun with finding props from various theater troupes in Shenyang. Guo Liyun realized that many troupes' prop guns were outdated, so he went to a wholesale market in Shenyang to search for merchandise. Given the regulations, even toy guns couldn't be sold casually. It took a considerable effort to locate vendors selling toy guns in the wholesale market. Speaking about this scene, Guo Liyun humorously remarked, “In the scene, the nearly one hundred armed police chasing the fugitive all use toy guns, while the fugitive Lu Tianyu uses a real gun.”
