One night, an unexpected visitor, Jun (played by Wang Baoqiang), arrives at the police station. He reports to the on-duty officer that he has killed five people, but he cannot explain his relationship to the victims or describe how or where they were killed. It turns out he only planned to kill the five. After jotting down Jun's contact address, the officer dismisses him, seeing him as just a bored, mentally unstable person. However, soon after, a murder occurs in the area overseen by Inspector Han (played by Liu Qingyun): the victim's body is in a horrific state, leading Han to believe the method of execution has unusual motives. Within a week, Han is assigned another murder case, where the victim, also a man, dies in an abandoned mechanical workshop. His death is brutal; his feet forcibly fit into tiny red high-heeled shoes, with over a dozen nails driven into the tops and sides. While searching through records of suspicious individuals and cases across Hong Kong, Han finds the report of Jun’s confession earlier that day. He immediately leads a team to search Jun's residence, but the place is empty—aside from a large collection of old fairy tale books, there is nothing suspicious. At this point, Han is unaware that a meticulously designed trap has been set, and the outcome will be even more bizarre and unpredictable.
