During the Southern Song Dynasty, the world was tumultuous, with various demons harming society, while also there were passionate beings destined to meet, performing timeless legends. In a deep mountain forest, a blue snake and a white snake cultivated for a thousand years, transforming into human forms, spending their days joyfully roaming the mountains, living freely. The two snakes unexpectedly meet a doctor named Xu Xian (played by Lin Feng) who is gathering herbs on the mountain; the white snake (played by Huang Shengyi) admires Xu Xian, and accidentally saves his life. From then on, her mortal heart is stirred, and she decides to descend the mountain to find her beloved. Coincidentally during a festive occasion, the two snakes transform into human forms and come to the city under the names Bai Suzhen and Qingqing (played by Cai Zhuoyan). As fate would have it, Bai Suzhen eventually encounters Xu Xian, and they become husband and wife.
