On the eve of her university entrance exam, Lin Hong's father is deceived, causing his toy factory to be swallowed by real estate tycoon Pan Kai. In an attempt to stop the factory's demolition, he tragically loses his life. To avenge her father's death, Lin Hong decides to enroll in a police academy. Years later, having graduated, she is now a special police officer. However, during the sniper exam, despite her excellent grades, she cannot find her focus and fails. Her superiors assign Da Yang to train her. Her boyfriend, Gao Feng, comes to see her and informs her that he is going abroad. Da Yang arranges leave for her, but just as she heads to the airport, a shocking incident occurs in her city. Criminal Guo Dalei has entered a hotel, taking staff hostage and placing a powerful bomb, threatening to detonate it in two hours if his demands are not met. Coincidentally, an international conference is taking place in the city, with leaders from multiple countries meeting; should this incident occur, it would greatly damage the country's international reputation. The mayor demands an immediate resolution, so the SWAT team's task is to rescue the hostages, prevent the bombing, and organize the best snipers to take down the criminal. The top snipers, Da Yang and Lao Wu, take on the responsibility, and Lin Hong joins them. The director insists that the sniper must kill the criminal with a single shot, with no time even to react to pressing the remote. Lao Yang honestly explains that the criminal is wearing a helmet, and even if he exposes himself, only a two-inch square area around his eyes would be visible, appearing suddenly at night, making it impossible to guarantee a clear shot. The director laments that if only there was a sharpshooter like Zhang, one sniper would suffice! The order to eliminate the criminal is given. Lin Hong sees Guo Dalei's eyes through the infrared scope and suddenly envisions a clear scene of Guo causing her father's death. She pulls the trigger, and with her shot, the SWAT team bursts in to launch an assault, mistakenly believing Lao Yang made the shot. The criminal is already dead. The director wipes the sweat from his forehead, and everything is over. Lin Hong puts down her gun, murmuring, “I found my focus, I found my focus!” When Lin Hong arrives at the team base, expecting a reprimand, she is surprised to receive an award personally from the director, and city leaders wish to meet her. The director emphasizes that perhaps the best news for her is that she has been appointed the top sniper of the SWAT team. Lin Hong drives to meet the sharpshooter Zhang. By a small river on the outskirts, an old man is stooped over watering flowers, coughing and struggling to breathe. A luxurious Mercedes stops by the road. Pan Kai, dressed in a suit, steps out, and Lin Hong immediately hides behind a tree. Twenty years ago, sharpshooter Zhang had shot Pan Kai while pursuing him for robbery, but was himself hit by Pan Kai's hidden gun. Pan Kai asks Zhang why he didn't kill him with his marksmanship at that time. Zhang replies that the only reason he spared Pan Kai's life was that he learned during the pursuit that Pan Kai had robbed money but also took a bag of milk powder for his daughter, believing that there was still some conscience left in him, so he let him live. “Living is beautiful,” said Pan Kai, claiming that he now lives beautifully, with a proud daughter who is a future pianist. Meanwhile, Zhang is nearing the end of his life and feels happy about it. But Zhang points out that Pan Kai can only live with a certain medication, and Pan Kai drives away. Zhang gives Lin Hong some words unrelated to shooting, saying that life is only lived once. The highest realm of a sniper is having no targets in sight but targets in their heart. Lin Hong returns to the SWAT team and encounters her former lover, Gao Xiang. Gao Xiang now owns a company named Rainbow Network and has been searching for her. However, during her interaction with Gao Xiang, Lin Hong discovers that he has feelings for Pan Kai’s daughter, young pianist Pan Yuanyuan. Pan Kai has illegally taken over Gao Xiang's company. Ignoring Lin Hong's advice against it, Gao Xiang decides to seek revenge by kidnapping Pan Kai. The SWAT team is urgently deployed, surrounding Gao Xiang at a construction site. As psychological tactics fail, a final solution is necessary. At this point, Lin Hong is on the verge of a mental breakdown, having to take down her own lover while needing to protect Pan Kai, the man who raped her and killed her father! Just then, Pan Yuanyuan, dressed in a white dress after a performance, rushes onto the platform, disregarding everything to speak with Gao Xiang. The conversation fails, and she suddenly recognizes Lin Hong, telling the captain that she is Gao Xiang's girlfriend and she will seek revenge. Lin Hong refuses, stating, "My grudge with your father runs deeper, but he is the hostage I must rescue, and I will save him!" In a fit of rage, Gao Xiang wounds Pan Kai with a knife. Pan Yuanyuan, desperately trying to save her father, accidentally falls from the rooftop, letting out a long scream into the night. Pan Kai cries out in despair from the opposite building. Lin Hong pulls the trigger, and Gao Xiang is shot in the forehead, collapsing. Lin Hong puts down her gun, covering her face with her hands, and slowly squats down… Lin Hong is awarded the rank of police officer, slowly raising her hand to salute.
