Cooper (Chris Marquette), a slacker working in the service department of a pharmaceutical company, has a habit of arriving late, being careless at work, and playing pranks on his colleagues, which has displeased his supervisor, Marian (Deborah Geffner). On the morning he is fired, a mysterious disaster suddenly strikes. When Cooper wakes from unconsciousness, he finds himself wrapped in white cocoons and the surroundings in chaos. Even more unbelievable is the presence of large beetles attacking him. After a fierce struggle, Cooper manages to defeat them and subsequently rescues Marian and her daughter Sarah (Brooke Nevin), but Marian is ultimately taken away by the insects into the sky.
