The elderly Xing Ye, over seventy years old, mistakenly believes he has contracted AIDS, leading him to be restless and even contemplate suicide. He often takes his grandson fishing to avoid the neighbors, seeking temporary peace. Just then, his long-lost twin brother, Ya Ye, comes back after enduring many hardships. After being away from home for many years, Ya Ye finally returns, but in his excessive excitement, he suffers a heart attack and dies suddenly in the bathroom, mistakenly being identified as Xing Ye. When Xing Ye returns to see a wreath placed at his doorstep, he sighs dramatically: Is this destiny? He then considers suicide by poison. Luckily, his grandson switches the poison to prevent the tragedy. When everyone sees the living Xing Ye again, they are all too astonished to speak. A farcical misunderstanding ends, and the family returns to its former tranquility.
