Former Hong Kong boxing champion Cheng Hui (played by Zhang Jiahui), after falling from grace in the boxing world, becomes addicted to gambling, accumulating massive debts, and flees to Macau to escape creditors. While living in a shared apartment, Cheng Hui meets a mother and her daughter; the mother (played by Mei Ting) suffers from mental illness, and the little girl (played by Li Xinqiao) not only has to go to school but also take care of her mother. Cheng Hui and the little girl hit it off, often dressing up as animals and performing skits to cheer up the girl's mother. Meanwhile, rich second-generation Lin Siqi (played by Peng Yuyan) faces family turmoil when his father (played by Gao Jie) loses his business and falls into a life of debauchery at bars. To encourage his down-and-out father to start anew, Lin Siqi enrolls in MMA. He signs up at a boxing club where he meets Cheng Hui, who is working there, and becomes his apprentice to learn boxing. After months of training, Lin Siqi achieves several victories in MMA, becoming the new boxing champion. However, he soon faces a challenge from another expert (played by An Zhijie) and, after sustaining injuries, has to withdraw. Meanwhile, creditors find Cheng Hui, and during a confrontation, they accidentally harm Mei Ting and her daughter. Cheng Hui feels deeply guilty and, wanting to stop dragging others down, begins retraining in mixed martial arts, hoping to win a match in MMA to earn money to pay off his debts. At his over-forty age, Cheng Hui faces skepticism as he challenges boxing, and his opponent happens to be the new champion An Zhijie, who has defeated his apprentice Lin Siqi...
