In 1980, the Gwangju Incident broke out. Innocent civilians were massacred by the military government as "red elements," and many families endured the painful loss of loved ones. The mastermind behind it all, Chun Doo-hwan, ascended to the presidential throne. Years later, he retired peacefully and, despite facing accusations of military dictatorship and economic crimes, was granted a special pardon. Meanwhile, the victims' families, who experienced the Gwangju Incident, could no longer stand idly by in the face of the greatest injustice in the world. One day in 2006, national shooting team athlete Shim Mi-jin (played by Han Hye-jin), a former military service gang member Kwon Jun-pyo, and young police officer Kwon Jeong-heok were gathered together. Their loved ones all lost their lives in the massacre 26 years ago, and former soldier Kim Joo-seok, who participated in the martial law, had been hiding immense guilt and hatred for many years. Now a wealthy entrepreneur, he decides to join the families of the victims to assassinate Chun Doo-hwan, who is still living a life of luxury and comfort... This film is adapted from the South Korean webtoon of the same name based on the Gwangju Incident.
