Onuma Maki (played by Mako Menji) was once a lively and cheerful girl, but now she has become a recluse, staying indoors for five years. During these five years, Maki has relied on copying her favorite illustrations to relieve stress and escape reality. With her father's introduction, Maki finally musters the courage to work at a game company. However, lacking social experience, she makes numerous mistakes at work, creating games full of bugs. Just when she thought she would be scolded, she unexpectedly gains the recognition of her colleague Yabu Ryotaro (played by Takahiro Miura). Ryotaro believes that Maki has a talent for drawing, and with his advice and encouragement, Maki becomes a game concept artist and begins to try creating her own unique characters instead of just imitating.
