Hana (voiced by Aoi Miyazaki), studying at a national university, falls in love with a man (voiced by Takao Osawa) who audaciously audits classes. Even when she discovers he is a werewolf, she willingly embraces him. Over the years, Hana gives birth to a daughter, Yuki, and a son, Ame. Unexpected misfortune strikes when her gentle husband passes away. Weak yet strong, Hana dedicates herself to raising her two children, managing their needs, which constantly occupy her thoughts. The identity of her children as werewolves forces them to leave the bustling city to seek refuge in a quiet rural area. They settle in an old house, where Yuki is mischievous and lively, while Ame is delicate and reserved. The sibling pair roam the mountains and forests like wolves, enjoying unprecedented happiness and freedom. During this time, the villagers, represented by Grandpa Nuresuke (voiced by Bunta Sugawara), provide Hana's family with meticulous care. As Yuki and Ame grow up, they eventually encounter a pivotal moment that will determine their identities and future... This film won the Special Jury Award at the 34th Yokohama Film Festival and the Best Animated Feature at the 36th Japan Academy Prize.
