Nana Osaki (voiced by Romi Paku), a punk girl with a dream of music, once formed a band called Black Stones with her boyfriend Ren Honjo (voiced by Hidenobu Kiuchi), friend Yasu Takagi (voiced by Yoshihisa Kawahara), and Shinobu Terashima (voiced by Tomokazu Seki) in her hometown. However, after Ren was recruited by the popular band Trapnest to develop his career in Tokyo, they were forced to break up. Two years later, Nana decides to head to Tokyo as well, recruiting Yasu and Shinobu to revive Black Stones and vows to compete with Ren's Trapnest. Nana Komatsu (voiced by KAORI), an unreliable girl from a small town forever immersed in her romantic dreams, suffers through a long-distance relationship with her boyfriend Shouji Endou (voiced by Hiroki Takahashi) as he studies in Tokyo, and now finally has the opportunity to move to Tokyo to be with Shouji. The two girls, both named "Nana," meet on the Shinkansen to Tokyo and coincidentally both want to rent the same apartment, No. 707, so they decide to share it. Two girls with completely different personalities, along with the boys from the two competing bands, intertwine their lives, dreams, love, and frustrations, becoming inseparable from that point on...
