Nick is an Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) officer who always prefers to work alone, and this time is no different. Upon learning of an impending arms deal, the hot-headed Nick descends from a helicopter, scattering the arms dealers in a panic. After some gunfire, the arms dealer leader flees in a hurry, and Nick relentlessly pursues him. Seeing that the arms dealer leader has nowhere to escape, he takes a girl hostage. Nick decisively shoots him dead, only to realize that while he fired, he had already pulled the pin on a grenade, causing the girl to be killed in the explosion.
