In 1938, during the fierce Anti-Japanese War, General Fang Ha'er of the National Revolutionary Army's 88th Division led his troops out of Sichuan to the front line in Zhejiang. The 88th Division was mostly a shell force, but Fang Ha'er prioritized national righteousness, supplying his own provisions and fighting fiercely against the Japanese army.
