Happy and kind old worker Luo Laoman couldn't stay idle after retirement and became a volunteer police officer to maintain traffic order. His spouse passed away, leaving him with a son and a daughter. His son, Daman, is married and has a son named Xiaoman. Xiaoman is pampered and is like the "little emperor" of the family. Daman works as an administrator at the "Lion Building" restaurant; he is honest and has inherited Laoman's easy-going and kind nature. His daughter, Luo Xiulan, is eager to go abroad to live a "happy" life, disregarding her personal dignity. She asks Laoman to watch her cameo performance, which he is reluctant to do, but Xiaoman insists on going, so he reluctantly accompanies his grandson. On Xiaoman's 6th birthday, the Luo family threw him a birthday party. Just as everyone was in high spirits, Xiaoman ran to the parking lot to play with marbles and unfortunately got his leg injured by a car.
