In the waters at the southern tip of Jeju Island, the oil exploration vessel "Eclipse" conducts oil exploration in the seventh mining zone, 2500 meters below the seabed. The crew is ambitious and motivated, dreaming of developing a vast oil field to serve the nation. However, numerous exploration attempts have ended in failure. Consequently, headquarters issued an evacuation order for the mining area. The captain, Jung Wan (played by Ahn Sung-ki), is sent from headquarters to persuade everyone to leave. Due to her father's past demise in these waters, equipment manager Jun-hae (played by Ha Ji-won) is unwilling to abandon the mission, firmly believing that oil lies hidden beneath the seabed, and thus refuses to follow the evacuation order. Headquarters issues an ultimatum, stating that all crew members must prepare to withdraw within a month. Just as Jun-hae and the crew are making one final attempt at oil detection, the communication signal with headquarters suddenly goes dead. In a state of panic, the crew senses something lurking in the ocean, and a strange, terrifying atmosphere envelops the "Eclipse." Subsequently, crew members begin to die one by one under bizarre circumstances...
