A group of monkeys was playing in the forest when the blue monkey looked up and saw the round and bright moon, dreaming of having it. It whistled to call everyone, and they used bamboo poles to try to reach the moon. Unfortunately, no matter how long the poles were, the moon remained high up. When the yellow monkey saw the reflection of the moon in the well water, it excitedly whistled to gather everyone again. The blue monkey scratched its head and came up with another idea. They all hung upside down, trying to fish the moon out, but when they finally managed to scoop the moon into a basin, they started fighting over who would keep it. As a result, the basin fell, and the moon "shattered" into pieces, truly reflecting the saying, "Fishing for the moon in water is an empty pursuit." It is worth mentioning that director Zhou Keqin, considering children's viewing psychology, adopted a "simple, bright, vivid, and interesting" style and used monkey designs inspired by Chinese folk ink painting, making this animated film resonate strongly with children's interests even today.
