In an old apartment with extremely poor sound insulation, neighbors Sō (played by Junichi Okada) and Nao (played by Kumiko Aso) inevitably share each other's sounds. Nao's coughing, the hum of the humidifier, the intonation of her French, and the jingling of the wind chimes when entering and leaving; Sō's coffee grinding and the metallic clinking of keys as he walks. Although they are neighbors, they have never met in person, yet through these sounds, they share each other's lives and find comfort and healing in their loneliness and sadness.
Nao, a floral designer, works at a flower shop while preparing to study abroad in France. During this time, she encounters a confession from a convenience store worker, only to discover it was a lie. Sō, a photographer known for taking photos of the popular star Shingo (played by Hiroyuki Ikeuchi), yearns to take landscape photos instead. However, Shingo's unexpected disappearance complicates Sō's plans for capturing Canadian scenery. Both injured, they decide to make changes in their lives and go abroad. Despite mutually having feelings for each other, they have never met. Meanwhile, a call from a hometown class reunion seems to be subtly bridging the two…
