The story takes place in an industrial town in 1979, where a series of deaths from leukemia cause great alarm among the residents. Everyone knows that the two large factories in town, which discharge wastewater daily, are somehow connected to these tragedies. In the face of the massive industrial complex, individuals feel incredibly small, yet Anne (Kathleen Quinlan) resolutely decides to join forces with eight victim families in the town to sue the two factories.No lawyer is willing to take on such a tricky case; not only are the chances of winning small, but they also do not want to attract unnecessary trouble.
