Starring Natalie Portman, Apple's new series "Lady In The Lake" is adapted from the bestselling novel of the same name by Laura Lippman. Set in 1960s Baltimore, it follows housewife and mother Maddie (Natalie Portman) as she returns to her roots as an investigative journalist to solve a murder case. This leads her to intersect with another woman, Cleo, who is struggling to balance her work, motherhood, and a passionate commitment. Together, they will drive the agenda for progress for Black communities in Baltimore. The series is created by Alma Har'el ("Honey Boy") and Drey Ryan ("The Man in the High Castle," "Colony"), with the production company of Jean-Marc Vallée ("Big Little Lies," "Dallas Buyers Club").
