The black supernatural detective movie "The Ninth Precinct" is directed by emerging filmmaker Wang Dinglin. He stated that he encountered this story two years ago, which originally had a thriller detective style. However, he felt that Taiwan lacked such entertainment films, so he hoped to create a Hollywood buddy cop film reminiscent of "Men in Black" and "Kingsman" featuring seasoned veterans guiding rookies. The black supernatural detective film "The Ninth Precinct," co-produced by Quan Neng Productions, Huawen Creative, Leda Home International Entertainment, and MM2, officially held a ceremony to mark the beginning of filming on the morning of July 1. Producers Wang Jun, Ye Rufen, and Chen Hongyuan, along with producer Leda Home’s Hao Boxiang, screenwriter Zhang Guoli, emerging director Wang Dinglin, and main cast members Peng Qiaoqiao, Qiu Ze, Wen Zhengling, Liu Yier, and special appearances by Gao Yingxuan and Xiao Ba, all expressed their excitement for participating in this rare fantasy supernatural black detective film from Taiwan. A special offering ceremony was also arranged during the filming commencement event. Directed by Wang Dinglin, the black supernatural detective film "The Ninth Precinct" first came to his attention two years ago. Originally intended as a thriller detective story, he realized that there were few such entertainment films in Taiwan, and hence hoped to create a Hollywood buddy cop film where experienced officers team up with novices, which immediately garnered strong support from numerous investors, including Huawen Creative. After two years of screenplay development with screenwriter Zhang Guoli, filming has finally commenced; the director humorously mentioned that he is afraid of horror films, yet his first movie had to be a supernatural detective film. When selecting the cast for "The Ninth Precinct," the director first thought of inviting Peng Qiaoqiao to portray an experienced detective. "I wanted to present a different contrast, serious and steady," the director mentioned, hoping to challenge Peng to avoid comedy and speaking Taiwanese. Peng expressed initial hesitation about accepting the producer Wang Jun's offer due to concerns about the exhaustion of filming, but after reading the script, he immediately agreed because "the story is very Hollywood, and the deadpan detective Old Zhang is like Tommy Lee Jones." He joked that he hopes to transform into a new stylish old handsome guy, although he felt pressured by the fighting scenes. Qiu Ze this time breaks away from his previous idol playboy image, challenging to portray a detective in "The Ninth Precinct" who can see another world. "He's sincere and has a sense of justice, very different from before." In the film, under the guidance of his senior, he re-evaluates the relationship between the human and ghost worlds. Although Qiu Ze, like the director, is afraid of horror films, thinking about it gives him goosebumps, both still want to push the horror aspect of the film to the extreme. "The Ninth Precinct" depicts the story of the police officer Ahao, who is full of justice but clumsy, causing his partner to sacrifice and being transferred to the mysterious unit [The Ninth Precinct]. Here, Ahao is trained by the team leader Old Zhang and meets new colleagues Xiaoxue and passionate reporter Ruxin, thus getting involved in a mysterious serial murder case...
