TV director Akiko Hayakawa (Nobuko Miyamoto) visits a western-style mansion in the mountains to interview a now-deceased legendary painter. Accompanying her are producer Hoshino (Shin'go Yamashiro), his daughter Emi (Nokko), cameraman Taguchi (Ichiro Furutachi), and reporter Asuka (Fukumi Kuroda). In fact, Hoshino is in a romantic relationship with Akiko and brought Emi along to help her bond with Akiko, but their vacation mood is shattered by a series of eerie occurrences upon their arrival at the mansion... This is the third theatrical release produced by Juzo Itami and the first major release from Kiyoshi Kurosawa.
