Returning overseas talent Qin Fen (played by Ge You) invents the "Divergence Terminator," which is bought for £2 million by investors for its ability to resolve human conflicts fairly and peacefully. Qin Fen embarks on a journey of online matchmaking, filled with laughter and mishaps, from reuniting with a gay friend to encountering a salesperson. Despite feeling rather disheartened, when he meets the cool and reserved Liang Xiaoxiao (played by Shu Qi), he straightforwardly asks her about her intentions. This situation becomes more complicated as Xiaoxiao falls in love with a married man and struggles with her unrequited feelings. She initially came to meet Qin Fen as per her family's arrangement, with no plans to see him again. Nevertheless, the two share the most secretive aspects of their lives.
