Kanji (played by Paresh Rawal), an antique dealer selling Buddha statues, is an atheist. He sees the statues as toys and doesn't understand the elaborate religious rituals. He wants to raise his daughter to be a pilot and his son to be a cricket player. His antique shop holds all his hopes and emotions. One day, during a bustling religious ceremony, Kanji makes a joke about God to bring his son back from participating in the event, and he is warned by the cult leader that he will face divine retribution. Suddenly, the weather changes from sunny to overcast, triggering an earthquake. All other shops are unharmed, but Kanji's store is left in ruins. Thinking that he can recover his losses through insurance, Kanji is informed by the insurance company that it falls under the category of acts of God, and is not covered. Left with nothing, Kanji files a lawsuit against God. The defendants are the cult leaders who profit by exploiting divine names. A seemingly bizarre court case unfolds, and God himself (played by Akshay Kumar) seems very interested in the matter. He hides in the crowd and approaches Kanji, changing Kanji's perspective on religion...
