Christian (played by Rachel McAdams) has a lot of personal interactions with his subordinate Isabella (played by Noomi Rapace) outside of work. However, beneath their seemingly good relationship, Christian resorts to stealing Isabella's advertising ideas for his own career advancement, claiming the success for himself. After a rift forms between them, Isabella engages in a relationship with Christian's lover Dirk (played by Paul Anderson) and tries to reclaim her career after suffering setbacks because of Christian, only to face even greater humiliation from him. Isabella discovers that Christian has evidence of Dirk's embezzlement and intends to report him, leading her to hide the evidence. Soon, Christian is murdered in his home, and the evidence left at the scene points to Isabella. But is she really the killer?
