The United States and Russia plan a counter-terrorism operation together, sending special forces to capture General Ivan Radik (played by Jurgen Prochnow), the dictator of Kazakhstan who possesses nuclear weapons. At a celebration weeks later, U.S. President James Marshall (played by Harrison Ford), a Vietnam War veteran, delivers a strong and compelling speech against terrorists and tyrannical regimes. After a successful visit to Moscow, the President and his family, along with dignitaries, return to the U.S. on Air Force One, accompanied by a Russian media team led by Egor (played by Gary Oldman). Security is lax, and Egor's true identity is that of a terrorist loyal to General Radik. After takeoff, Egor and his accomplices hijack the plane, taking U.S. officials and the President's family hostage, while James manages to escape. The terrorists demand the release of General Radik by the U.S. and Russia, while James, hidden on Air Force One, engages in a deadly battle with the hijackers...
