"Mr. Turner" tells the passionate life of the British painter J.M.W. Turner, who was once scorned for his avant-garde techniques. However, Turner viewed painting as his life, producing numerous masterpieces throughout his career, and even struggled to get out of bed to sketch a female corpse shortly before his death. In his later years, particularly from the 1840s, he devoted himself to exploring the forms and colors of painting, using incredible pigments made from food, saliva, and other materials, which sparked controversy. He is regarded as one of Britain's greatest painters and notoriously eccentric figures.
