In early spring of 1963, Tokyo, Japan, which successfully bid for the Olympics, was bustling with construction as the Japanese economy experienced rapid growth. However, amidst this wave of development, there was still a small group of individuals clumsily holding onto their dreams. Young Murakami Eikei (played by Kazunari Ninomiya) has a mother suffering from cancer who refuses to seek treatment. Eikei has to pay to temporarily bring singer Inoue Shoichi (played by Masaki Aiba), writer Mukai Ryuzo (played by Sho Sakurai), and painter Shimokawa Kei (played by Satoshi Ohno) to perform a play to coax his mother into the hospital. After treating them to a meal at a small restaurant called 'Eiya', they part ways. A few days later, the four reunite by coincidence. Eikei, who has been striving to become a children's manga artist, takes in the three who are also working hard for their dreams. This film is adapted from the famous work "Young People" by the late manga artist Shinji Nagashima, known as the "master of youth manga." The manga was adapted into the TV series "Yellow Tears" in 1974, which deeply moved a young film enthusiast, who later became the director of this film, Kazuhiko Inudou. 32 years later, Inudou fulfills his long-held dream by inviting the energetic idol group "Arashi" to star in this youth story about dreams and reality.
