This film is adapted from the beloved children's book of the same name by Lois Duncan. 16-year-old orphan Andy (Emma Roberts) and her brother Bruce (Jake T. Austin) are taken in by a family that, however, does not allow them to have pets. They can only settle their little dog "Friday," who is their only companion, in an abandoned hotel. The children plan to relocate the dogs to protect them, and a battle of wits is about to begin...
