Desolate and bleak, a stark contrast to the metropolis. In this forlorn town, two individuals from different backgrounds meet. One is a moderately successful film director in Tokyo (played by Iwai Shunji), who cannot face the immense emptiness and loss he feels, yearning to temporarily escape the fame and fortune to find the motivation and passion for creation; the girl (played by Fujitani Ayako) wears a red raincoat and carries an umbrella even on sunny days, always declaring tomorrow is her birthday.
