This film tells the story of the courageous resistance of cadets from the Podolsk Military School in October 1941, on the outskirts of Moscow. The cadets from the Podolsk Infantry and Artillery School were dispatched to the Ilyinsky defensive line to fight alongside the troops of the Soviet 43rd Army, preventing the advance of German forces until reinforcements arrived. Outnumbered, these young men, barely in their teens, sacrificed their lives in a battle that lasted nearly two weeks. The fight aimed to halt the vastly superior German army's push towards Moscow. This film is not just about war; it also revolves around love, true friendship, and the journey from childhood to adulthood. About 3,500 cadets and their commanders were sent to hold the last line of defense outside Moscow. Most of them would remain there forever.
