Posy (Lucy Boynton), Pauline (Emma Watson), and Petrova (Yasmin Paige) are three orphaned girls who, fortunately, meet the explorer Gum (Richard Griffiths) and become his adopted daughters. Despite Gum's eccentric personality, his inherently kind nature provides the children with the warmth of a family. Though their childhoods were tragic, the three girls still retain their dreams: Petrova wishes to become a pilot, Pauline yearns for the spotlight on stage, and Posy dedicates much of her time and passion to ballet. Gum’s sudden disappearance throws the girls' lives into turmoil, and their financial struggles mean they will no longer have access to their dreams. In a moment of crisis, kind-hearted people selflessly reach out to help, allowing the three girls not only to overcome difficulties but also to gain a deeper understanding and insight into life.
