A touching story of mutual rescue and support between animals and humans, three expedition members arrive in the snow-covered Antarctic to search for a meteorite, accompanied by eight sled dogs. The beautiful scenery of Antarctica captivates the trio, but danger follows the stunning views. A few days later, a snowstorm brings hardship; one team member falls into the icy water beneath thin ice, facing imminent peril, but the sled dogs bravely rescue him, allowing him to escape—this seems merely a prelude to even harsher challenges ahead. The ferocious blizzards wreak havoc across the Antarctic land, leaving the team in a dilemma as they struggle for survival in the harsh weather and environment. At this moment, they are compelled to decide to abandon their eight loyal sled dogs. When the three safely return, they cannot let go of the dogs still in danger. In a bid to rescue them, they retrace their steps back to the Antarctic land.
