Although yearning for a happy and fulfilling family, Matsubara Yoshimi (played by Hitomi Kuroki) and her husband Hamada Kunitaka (played by Fumiyo Kohinata) inevitably edge towards the brink of marital ruin. After an exhausting tug-of-war, Yoshimi finally obtains custody of her 5-year-old daughter, Yuko (played by Rio Kanno). Following this, mother and daughter move into an old, inexpensive apartment through an agency, preparing to start a new life. Initially, their lives are filled with joy, but everything quickly takes a bizarre turn. Mysterious leaks and strange sounds constantly trouble the mother and daughter, and even Yuko begins to exhibit odd behaviors. It seems that a sinister ghost is slowly infiltrating the lives of Yoshimi and her daughter... This film is adapted from a short story by Koji Suzuki and won the Silver Raven Award at the 2002 Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.
