The story takes place in a small town adjacent to an ancient forest, where a logging company is operating. Just then, snow begins to fall, temporarily halting operations, but soon a brutal and bloody event occurs. Meanwhile, Sheriff Paul Hilder (Kevin Durand) and his new partner Donnie have just dealt with a few alarm incidents and then drive to pick up his son Adam (Ethan Khusidman) from his ex-wife Susan's (Bianca Kajlich) home to bring him back to his own place.
