The film tells the tragic life story of the protagonist, Nana (played by Anna Karina), who transitions from an ordinary saleswoman to the world of prostitution. Tired of her life as a saleswoman, Nana aspires to be an actress, but fate drags her into the abyss of selling her body. The more she delves into the profound meaning of life, the more she doubts the true nature of existence. Just when she finally meets her lover, fate plays another cruel joke on her, leading to her death at the hands of a pimp. The seemingly disjointed and unrelated chapters are filled with philosophical dialogues, pondering whether it's for "selling the body to save the soul"? The film poses much more than just this question to us.
