During her escape, A-Hua suffers from Mr. Tao's rape and has her jewels and money taken away by him. This ugly incident gradually turns the Tao residence into a mysterious and terrifying place, with ghostly phenomena often occurring. Soon after, Mr. Tao dies mysteriously, and his family can only leave the Tao residence, turning it into an abandoned building. Years later, Mr. Tao's descendant, Tao Ming (played by Gu Guan-Zhong), falls into the depths of gambling addiction, burdened with enormous debts due to A-Hua's ghost constantly haunting him. By chance, the Tao residence is secretly sold by Tao Ming's wife to Professor Yang and his wife. Not long after moving in, the Yang family encounters a series of strange events in the house, forcing them to confront ghostly legends that defy scientific explanation. Professor Yang begins to question his rational thinking, and the shadow of the Tao residence looms over their lives.
