The story takes place in a future world with rapid technological advancements, where artificial intelligence robots are no longer rare and are gradually integrating into human lives. After failing the college entrance exam, eighteen-year-old Shirogane Tsukasa (voiced by Naito Akira) starts working at SAI Corporation with the help of his parents, where the main product is humanoid intelligent robots called "Giftia." When Tsukasa arrives at the office, he finds out that the main responsibility of his department is to collect robots that are about to be decommissioned. Here, he meets a girl named Isla (voiced by Amamiya Sora), who is actually a robot. Although Isla appears cold and is not good at expressing herself, she has an unexpectedly cute side. Thus, Tsukasa and Isla become work partners, and a genuine friendship gradually develops between them.
