Looking back on青春, the person I didn't want to miss the most over the years has always been you. But this time, I really missed you. The film is based on the travel essay "Youth 18×2 - A Journey on Japan's Slow Train." Eighteen years ago, a backpacker from Japan, Amei (played by Kiyohara Kaya), came to the store where high school student Jimmy (played by Hsu Kuang-han) was working, and they spent a summer working together in the same shop. Jimmy gradually develops feelings for Amei, but Amei is set to return to Japan. Faced with his unorganized emotions, Amei proposes "a promise"... As time passes, Jimmy, returning to his hometown, discovers a postcard Amei sent from Japan 18 years ago. Memories of first love come flooding back, and Jimmy boards a train to Amei's hometown, beginning his solo journey in Japan.
