University professor Seiji Nakahara (Masakazu Tamura) has a beloved daughter, Yoshiko, who is brutally murdered by Kenji Iwasaki (Akihiro Nakao). Although Iwasaki confesses, the court refuses to accept his confession due to allegations of police violence during the interrogation, ultimately leading to his acquittal. This verdict deeply shocks the Nakahara couple, and soon after, Yoshiko's mother dies of grief. Unable to contain his hatred, Nakahara resolves to accuse the murderer of his daughter and the corrupt Japanese legal system. After a period of unbearable silence, Nakahara finally shoots Iwasaki one night.
