Wreck-It Ralph (voiced by John C. Reilly) lives in a low-resolution game produced in the 1980s. His character is set as a villain, whose daily routine involves causing destruction in the game "Fix-It Felix," with the hero Felix (voiced by Jack McBrayer) arriving just in time to make repairs, earn medals, and claim all the glory. As a villain, Ralph is tired of his life, watching Felix bask in the glow of victory while he lives day after day in boredom. He finally decides to make a change. Believing that if he can earn a medal, he can break free from his villainous role, Ralph secretly leaves his game after hours to explore other video game worlds. Along the way, Ralph encounters the ruthless Captain from "Hero's Duty" (voiced by Jane Lynch) and a little girl named Vanellope (voiced by Sarah Silverman) from the 90s candy racing game "Sugar Rush." The latter dreams of competing in a race, but her identity prevents her dreams from coming true. Ralph’s game, "Fix-It Felix," is deemed to have a system error due to his absence, and if he doesn't return soon, it will be permanently deleted; meanwhile, the world of "Sugar Rush" is quietly brewing a massive conspiracy that threatens the entire game world. This may be Ralph’s chance to realize his dreams, but it could also be a one-way street... Can he turn things around and become a true hero?
