The Kouryoudou in Osaka originally started as a wholesale dealer of medicinal herbs and gradually became famous for its pills made from secret formulas. By the second generation, two disciples became competitive, leading to a split in the Kouryoudou, with both sides operating directly across from each other, each claiming to be the "original" and the "main branch," engaging in covert battles for many years. Two years ago, the third-generation head of the main branch, Yoshichiro Shinchin (played by Masaki Endo), had a dispute with the head of the original branch, Minister Haruhiko (played by Shugo Fujimura), resulting in them using sulfuric acid to disfigure each other.
