Orphaned at a young age, Kogami Yuzu (voiced by Yui Horie) becomes the owner of the antique shop, Eight Million Hall. Although she has no one to rely on, Yuzu doesn't feel lonely with the company of Wakeshi (voiced by Haruka Tomatsu). Wakeshi is not human, but a cat deity residing in the shop, dedicated to guarding forgotten memories. Under Wakeshi's call, various deities begin to gather in Eight Million Hall. The innocent and cute cherry blossom deity, Yoshino (voiced by Chiwa Saito), the female Shōin-in Sasami (voiced by Ai Kayano) who has a marriage promise with Wakeshi, and the shy fox deity Yumita (voiced by Yuko Sanpei), who has feelings for Yuzu. These deities, although possessing magical abilities, each have a naïve side to their personalities. In the midst of their playful antics, another day begins in Eight Million Hall.
