The story takes place in Kanagawa Prefecture, where Buntarou Houjou (voiced by Seiichirou Yamashita) is an ordinary high school boy who has no hopes or dreams for the future, living each day in mundane despair. One day, a girl named Sayuki Kuroda (voiced by Haruka Chisuga) suddenly approaches Buntarou. Sayuki is a radiant presence in the school, much like a star, and she is the object of Buntarou's long-time secret crush. What does she want from him? It turns out that a script Buntarou wrote deeply attracted Sayuki, and she hopes for him to assist her in making a bishoujo game. After some persuasion, Buntarou joins in, but he knows nothing about the basic process of game production. Also involved in the game production are Buntarou's childhood friend Yuuka Hayakawa (voiced by Kana Hanazawa) and the perfectionist Ayou Antou (voiced by Satomi Arai), among others.
