The story takes place in the picturesque and culturally rich city of Ryukawa. Usami Nanako (voiced by Miku Itou) is an ordinary high school girl living there. A new swimming pool in the city is about to open, and Nanako and her friends are eager to go have fun together. Nanako wants a new swimsuit, but the price is too high, so she asks her mother for help. However, her mother refuses her request, leaving Nanako feeling helpless for a moment. At this critical juncture, Nanako's uncle Ota (voiced by Takahiro Mizusono), who works at the city hall, finds her a job, allowing Nanako to earn money to buy a swimsuit! Thus, through a series of unforeseen events, Nanako unexpectedly becomes a local idol in Ryukawa City and starts various promotional performances in this new role.
