The story takes place in a city called Daten City, which lies between heaven and hell, filled with danger and adventure. Recently, evil spirits have appeared in the city, preying on the citizens, causing widespread fear and unrest. Panty (voiced by Arisa Ogasawara) and Stocking (voiced by Mariya Ise) were two angels, but due to their rebellious nature, they were expelled from heaven and came to Daten City. Here, the sisters meet a priest named Garterbelt (voiced by Yasuyuki Kishi), who has a mysterious past. Under his guidance, Panty and Stocking become ghost hunters, hunting evil spirits to earn heaven coins. When they accumulate a certain number of heaven coins, Panty and Stocking can use them to return to heaven. Thus begins their daily life in Daten City.
