Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going? These questions are closely related to our existence, yet very few can provide accurate answers. Over the course of 14 months, traveling through 24 countries, director Ron Fricke captures the most magnificent and vibrant sights that nature has to offer—spanning from ancient times to the present, from apes to humans, from desolate deserts to awe-inspiring religious gatherings, from the emotional impact of the vastness of the earth to the happiness given by the pure smile of an infant. We will find that often, we are unaware that all this beauty is happening around us all the time. The entire film has no dialogue, and the title Baraka means blessings in ancient Islamic language, which reflects the director's intention in making this film—to bless all that exists alongside us on this blue planet.
