The story takes place in modern Japan, where Akane Kourin (voiced by Sayuri Yahagi) is born into an ancient vampire family. Unlike the other members of her family, Akane not only does not need to drink blood, but her own blood also increases, which causes her great distress. Her family consists of her seemingly tough, yet henpecked father Henry (voiced by Dai Matsumoto), her mother Renra (voiced by Emi Shinohara) who enjoys drinking the blood of liars, her brother Ren (voiced by Junichi Suwabe) who absolutely does not drink men's blood, and her silent sister Anju (voiced by Yuka Iguchi).
