On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Osamu Dazai's birth, Shueisha launched a project where its artists re-illustrated classic short stories. These include Takeshi Obata's re-illustration of Dazai's masterpiece "No Longer Human" and Natsume Sōseki's "Kokoro"; Tite Kubo's re-illustration of Ango Sakaguchi's "Under the Blooming Cherry Trees" and Ryūnosuke Akutagawa's two stories "Hell Screen" and "Spider's Thread"; and Akira Hiyoshi's re-illustration of Dazai's "Run, Melos!" Six classic works are presented in comic form, once again bursting with vitality. For those who have read the original works, these are familiar books; for those who haven't, they are uncharted territories. Because they are classics, they transcend the limits of time and instead appear even more youthful, remaining fresh with frequent readings.
