In the early 20th century during Japan's Taisho era, over fifty years of civilization and enlightenment have passed since the Meiji Restoration. With the convergence of Western culture and traditional Japanese culture, the imperial capital, Tokyo, gradually transformed into a bustling metropolis with modern buildings, where steam trains, subways crisscrossed, and horse-drawn carriages flowed continuously. However, it is also a magical city filled with monsters and sorcery. To combat the powerful demons known as "Demon Generals" that emerged from the earth, the army established a special force of officers who are psychics — the Demon Slayer Unit, composed of four heirs known as the "Four Blades": Kaneda Kazuki, wielding the "Divine Blade: Extinction"; Yamazaki Shinnosuke, wielding the "Light Blade: Intangible"; Fujieda Ayame, wielding the "Divine Sword: White Feather Bird"; and Makuji Ichima, wielding the "Spirit Sword: Wild Eagle". These four fought against the demons using only their physical bodies and their divine swords, a conflict referred to as the "Demon War". In a desperate situation, the Demon Slayer Unit was forced to use their last resort — the "Demon Sacred Artifacts" to unleash "Blood of Exorcism". These sacred artifacts are three ancient ritual tools from Japan: sword, jewel, and orb, which can amplify magical power. Ichima, the heir of the Makuji family’s "Blood of Exorcism," sealed the demons at the cost of his own life using the sacred artifacts, while Yamazaki Shinnosuke went missing during the battle... In the spring of Taisho 11, the evil organization "Black Nest Society," led by the demon monk Tenka, begins to stir. Tenka, who harbors hatred towards modern civilization and seeks to restore the Tokugawa shogunate's rule, leads his minions—Mara, Miroku, Asura, and Raksasa—to wreak havoc in the imperial capital using ancient sorcery to manipulate the demonic war machines. To counter this new threat and protect the capital and its people, with the strong support of Count Hanakouji, a new government-directed demon-slaying organization—the Imperial Floral Assault Team (abbreviated as "Imperial Assault") Flower Division was established. Under the leadership of Kaneda Kazuki and Fujieda Ayame, the Flower Division gathered six highly spiritually gifted girls: Makuji Ichima’s daughter and heir to the Spirit Sword: Wild Eagle, Makuji Sakura; granddaughter of the Kanzaki Zaibatsu lord, Kanzaki Shisei, who is proficient in Kanzaki’s long sword techniques; Maria Tachibana, a warrior of the Russian Revolution, known as the "Firebird"; Alice, a 10-year-old French noble girl isolated from the world due to her extraordinary spiritual power; Li Honglan, a Chinese girl skilled in mechanics who lost her family during the Xinhai Revolution; and Kirishima Kanaka, the rightful heir of Kirishima's traditional karate, standing nearly 2 meters tall. At the same time, based on the designs left by Yamazaki Shinnosuke, Kanzaki Heavy Industries completed the "Light Armor" for demon-slaying purposes. Based at the Ginza Grand Imperial Theater and often appearing as an opera troupe to conceal their true identity, the Flower Division transforms into warriors guarding the capital when monsters appear, fighting the enemies using the Light Armor. In spring of Taisho 12, struggling with insufficient combat power and teamwork, the Flower Division welcomed a new captain—Naval Lieutenant Oogami Ichiro, and the story of "Sakura Wars" begins here...
