The new semester has begun, and the seemingly fierce yet kind-hearted boy Ryuuji Takasu (voiced by Junji Majima) is determined to take the opportunity of being reclassified into a new class to clear up his classmates' misunderstandings from the past. What makes him even happier is that he is about to become classmates with his long-time crush Minori Shirakawa (voiced by Yui Horie). Besides that, his long-time best friend Yusaku Kitamura (voiced by Hiroshi Nojima) will be by his side, presenting a brand new high school life ahead of Ryuuji. The appearance of the girl Taiga Aisaka (voiced by Rie Kugimiya) catches Ryuuji's attention, not because of her tsundere and dark personality, but because he discovers that Taiga secretly has feelings for his friend Yusaku.
After both confessing their crushes, Ryuuji and Taiga decide to form a unified front in their romantic pursuits, using each other's help to achieve their love goals.
